Sabrina Hsu ‘26GS discusses how she pursues her passions and divides her time as a Dual BA Student between Trinity College Dublin and the School of General Studies

Tell us your GS story!

I’m in the Dual BA Program between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia! I relished the opportunity to study on two continents and wanted to experience a variety of teaching styles.

What are you majoring in and how did you decide on what major to pursue?

Neuroscience & behavior, I was inspired by a fantastic anatomy and physiology course in high school, where the instructor’s infectious passion for the brain made me fall in love with the subject.

What is your favorite class right now?

Neurobiology.

How did you get involved in research at Columbia and what project have you been working on?

I applied to the Columbia Undergraduate Business Scholars (CUBS) program in May and interviewed over the summer! Now, I’m working under Professor Adam Galinsky on two projects involving the intersection of management and social psych: one analyzing how figurative language in political speeches is correlated with election outcomes, and one dissecting how people respond to accusations, especially in a corporate setting.

What advice would you give to other students looking to get involved in research at Columbia?

Be proactive and look for opportunities outside of your department—you may be surprised!
